1956: Salvador Mercader Bruixola runs a bar-horchatería “Jerusalén”, Convento Jerusalén 28 Street; He manufactures horchata for own consumption.

1966: On customer demand, we began the distribution of horchata to foodservice.

1978: From the association with our supplier of tiger nuts, CHUFASUC was born.

1982: End of Chufasuc. As MERCADER CB we retrieve our brand and our market position.

1983: We move the factory to Paterna, Polígono Industrial Fuente del Jarro.

1998: We create a new line for large distribution, frozen and bottled horchata. Nowadays, it represents 50% of our company sales

2004: We create the brand “CHUFAGUST”. We become HORCHATAS MERCADER S.L.

2005: Expansion of facilities, automate production. Introduce new products and formats. We develop the banding for Mercader and ChufaGust.

2008: Our guidelines for SAFETY, QUALITY and PRODUCTION, are confirmed by obtaining ISO 22000 certification.

2010: We expand our range of horchata and slushes under different formats. 

2011: We certify the standard IFS (INTERNATIONAL FOOD STANDARD). We return to our origins: MERCADER as a single brand.
